Our History

Rex Coombs and Joe Ryan started C & R Awning more than 40 years ago. The business grew little by little by building one awning at time. Joe first built the frame and than hand fit the canvas. Each and every awning was a labor of love - and built to last.  In many ways Joe was ahead of his time. He built  awnings with welded steel frames when frames of galvanized pipe were all there was. Different shapes almost didn't exist. He treated everyone fairly - and he always tried to do the right thing.

Nancy Medved bought that awning business some 3000 plus customers and 18 years ago. It still operates from the run down little shop lovingly referred to as the sweat shop. It never will be the biggest awning shop in town. Methods and designs have improved, as have the materials - but each awning is still a labor of love. We still take the time to smell the roses and pet the dog. Above all - we still treat everyone fairly - and we always try to do the right thing.
